Don't worry, this isn't going to be a sappy post. The "L" word I'm talking about is LAUNDRY, and in my house it's an expletive. I'm pretty sure that laundry is the worst chore....ever. I would rather scrub the toilet than fold laundry. My husband will confirm that this is true, seeing as he has to dig his jeans out of the clean laundry basket pretty much everyday. The thing that bugs me the most about doing laundry is that it's never ending! I only have one child and I have to do laundry twice a week, and I really should do it more...see.
My mom would die if she knew I put pictures of my overflowing laundry basket on the internet, but we're baring it all here people! Anyway, it's not the washing of the clothes that I despise so much, it's the folding and putting away that I can't stand! It's a full body workout to put clothes away because every drawer in our dresser and every nook and cranny of our closet is full. Clothes are, literally, spewing out of them. I have to use all my might to close drawers, and good luck finding what you want in there after I finally muscle them shut! Admittedly, this is my fault because I might have a tad too many clothes. I probably just need to go through and get rid of some of them. What's the rule? If you haven't worn it in a year you probably won't--yeah that sounds about right. *Sigh* I guess that should be one of my New Year's resolutions. Now, where can I get some motivation??

I'm loving this blog Nicole! I obviously don't know what you are going through with medical school and everything, but I can surely relate in other ways...I too HATE the laundry. I was just sitting here thinking about how I needed to do the laundry before I read your post. I just got rid of about 5 bins of clothes (3 for me and Brad, and 2 for the kids) because I was having the same problem with shutting the drawers! Good luck!! It feels great once you do it.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I hate folding the laundry too. The worst part too is that if you don't do it right away then everything wrinkles and looks like junk... I tend to forget about my clothes until after they've sat in the dryer awhile:)
