A couple weeks ago, Weston signed up for one of the most important tests he'll ever take in his life. Dun Dun DUN! Step 1. Basically, in order for him to work in the hospitals and clinics next year he has to pass this test, and, more importantly, he needs to get a good score if he wants to be competitive when he applies for residencies.
What? He has to go through ANOTHER application process?
Why, yes. Yes he does. A year an a half from now we will be spending thousands more of our dollars so he can send out applications and fly to interviews, yet again so he can become a resident and work ridiculous amounts of hours for minimum wage for 3-8 years before he can actually be a "real doctor" making a "real salary" so we can start paying back our massive amount of student loan debt.
Ahem. Sorry. Anyway, since we are staring down the barrel of this bazooka-of-a-test, Weston and I decided that it's high time to hunker down and start some serious studying. And since my tv-watching doesn't make for a very study-friendly environment, this is what our evenings have looked like as of late:
Exciting, right? All I can say is, thank goodness I can watch my tv shows online during the day while he's at school or I would be one very perturbed lady.

ReplyDeleteCool shot, is this with a wide angle lens?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're almost done with that Les Mis book!
ReplyDeleteKristin- yes it is with a wide angle lens ;o)
ReplyDeleteAmelia- if being a little over half way through it is "almost done" then, yes! I am!
What a cute photo!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes - it's such a long, frustrating process with so little in the way of financial remuneration! Argh! But it's worth it, in the end. (Well, I hope so. We haven't reached the end yet! In fact, we are going through our THIRD round of expensive interviews and applications. blech.)
I totally ditched Bryan so I wouldn't be buggin him. I'm not as good as you! (plus Bryan can't study at the house with us there). So I'm in Vegas and he is in Salt Lake. We are both so ready for Thursday to be over!! Good Luck to Weston!
