I love you H.E.B.

There is a grocery store here that, I am convinced, was placed on Earth by God, Himself. I have never experienced anything quite like it. The produce section is gigantic, the bakery always has 50 different kinds of fresh-baked artisan bread, and the seafood and meat departments are to die for. But that's not even the best part. This grocery store ALWAYS has samples. Every day, any time of day. Samples. Cha ching! It's like they know that the only way I can keep my child happy while at the grocery store is to stuff his face!

So, I would like to dedicate this post to H.E.B. for helping me stay sane while grocery shopping. Because, yesterday, we chose to shop at a more convenient store and let's just say our experience was less than pleasant. It started out ok because some lady gave Jackson a piece of chocolate as we walked in the door. He really appreciated that. But soon it was gone. Then he spotted the bananas and went nuts!
Nana nana nana!
Ok ok, I'll get you some freakin' nanas!
NANA!!!!
He, apparently wanted a "nana" right then and there. Well, I wasn't too keen on letting him eat a banana before we paid for it, so my crazed monkey child did not get what he wanted, and that just wasn't ok with him. The rest of our time at the store was spent trying to placate Jackson in any way possible.
Here, play with this can of food.
Sure, go ahead and suck on the cart.
Fine! Daddy will let you walk around!
Thank goodness Weston was with me or I'm pretty sure I would have left our cart full of food in the middle of an aisle and just gone home. Poor daddy, had to chase Jackson around the store while I leisurely quickly grabbed everything on my list and got the heck out of there.

From now on, I'm using the extra gas to go to Heaven's grocery store, so I can avoid the weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth that occurred yesterday.

  1. Oy. I'm guilty of stealing a banana here and there when Avery was younger... (and sneakily throwing the peel in the trash before I got caught) I've also written a couple posts about how horrible it is to have a toddler in a grocery store, just so you don't feel alone in it!
