We WILL do that someday!

Have you seen this commercial?

Well you can make fun of me if you want, but I get a little teary-eyed every single time I see it. Every. Single. Time. I might be a little obsessed with the idea of surprising my kids with a trip to Disneyland one day. My husband thinks it's more for me than them, but come on, did you see those kids' reactions?? So what, if I will have just as much fun spinning on the tea cups and hugging Mickey mouse? It just makes it a win-win situation, right?

Weston never had the wonderful, amazing, life-changing opportunity to go to Disneyland when he was little, so he is a bit of a Disney-Scrooge. I, on the other hand, have endless childhood memories that make going to this magical land a bit like traveling back in time to my youth. I kid you not, my parents let me choose a vacation when I graduated high school, (within reason--not like we could have gone to Europe or anything, though I probably still would have made the same decision) and I chose Disneyland. I was 18 and my brother was 14 and I think we had more fun than when we went as small children. SO! I plan to brainwash instill in my children a love for Disney so they can have the same wonderful nostalgia that I have when they see Mickey Mouse.

  1. I Love that this commerical makes you cry too, I'm not the only one with an abnormal obsession with all things Disney. My family goes every October since our Sophomore year of High School and I haven't been able to go since we moved to Vermont, it is very heartbreaking.
Oh and Disneyland is infinitely more amazing when your little boy gets just as excited as you about being there. You will LOVE taking Jackson!

  2. OK, in our (my) defense, the boys were offered a trip to Disneyland several times, but why would they want to sit in a car for 12 hours each way to sit on some rides when they could go skiing in 1 hour instead? Their dad certainly sided with them which didn't make it any easier. I'll go with you!

  3. I get teary-eyes as well. Seeing their reaction gets me every time. Nothing would make me happier than to see my kids react like that one day :)

  4. I seriously just got chills watching the commercial! LOVE disneyland and everything disney! We just took our kids on a disney cruise and it was amazing!! It is so much fun when they understand it and are smiling from ear to ear when they see Mickey Mouse and the princesses!! I have to agree with you though...I am a little excited about it myself!

  5. Add me to the club. I love that commercial! Nicole, I don't know how you do it, but you seem to write my thoughts EXACTLY in pretty much every one of your blog posts. If I were as talented in writing as you, I could have written this. Although Brad does indulge my childish love for all things Disney and at least pretends to be as excited as I am. I think a Caywood Beaufort Disneyland trip is in order....
