Just because I'm opinionated

A friend of mine posted a link to this article on facebook. I, unfortunately, wasted about 20 minutes of my life and read it (and some of the comments--I know, embarrassing). I just have to say that people like Tricia Erickson make me a little bit sick. To claim that you are a Christian and then write an entire book bashing another religion is pretty low, don't ya think?

I also have an opinion on the people who chose to leave a comment on this article. There is a reason that the Church doesn't come out and respond to these sorts of things--because it won't do any good. It's not like you're going to change her mind by leaving a little comment on this article. She can say whatever she wants to say, but she isn't going to change anyone's mind with her words either. The only people who are going to buy and read her book are the people who have already formed opinions on the Mormon Church and Mitt Romney. She isn't going to sway American votes by writing a little book about "Mormon beliefs" and why a Mormon shouldn't be elected president.

Anyway, there's my two cents on the matter. I know it really makes no difference, but things like this and people like her get under my skin. I know I shouldn't let them, but ignorant people really irk me. So, in the spirit of not being ignorant, if anyone has any questions on what the LDS Church really teaches and what it's members really believe, click on the button on the right side of my blog. Don't read and listen to the slanderous words of people who have left the Church and now feel bitter towards it.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Amen Nicole- people like that aren't worth getting worked up over... there are some people who just want to argue and don't care about anything but themselves. I think it's quite ironic how the Mormon church gets bashed time and time again and everyone thinks it's funny or ok. Yet, if Catholicism or Judaism or ANY other religion was bashed or made fun of- people would get their pants sued off.
