-First off, before you go, get online and get some discount tickets! I found mine through S.A.V.E San Antonio. We ended up getting two adult two-day passes for the price of children's one-day admission. We didn't even use the second day, but it was still worth it. Buy your parking pass online too. It'll save you a couple bucks.
-We did the All Day Meal Deal for $30 each and it was amazing! There are about 6 restaurants that you can just walk on in and take an entree, side, and drink whenever you want throughout the day. In my opinion, this is a must-do--especially if it's hot outside. The drinks are way overpriced and being able to walk in and grab a bottle of cold water whenever I wanted was the best thing ever! AND Weston was able to fulfill a life-long dream and eat an overpriced, over-caloried turkey leg...yummy!
-We got to the park soon after it opened at 9 am and stayed until about 9 at night. We were never bored and had a blast the entire day.
-The Lost Lagoon water park was subpar. If you need to cool off just go to the Sesame Street Bay of Play and run around with all the kiddies. It's less crowded, and the water is cooler.
-The shows at SeaWorld are always fun, but ever since that trainer got killed by a killer whale they won't let them in the tank with the whales anymore so that show wasn't as exciting as it used to be (but I TOTALLY understand why)
-I couldn't ride any of the rides and Weston didn't get a chance to either, so I can't comment on that.
-If you're going with a small child and they can fall asleep in their stroller, a marathon day is totally do-able! Jackson fell asleep during the hottest part of the day, so we just made our way over to the sharks and coral reef, sat inside on the benches, and watched the fish swim around until he woke up. It was relaxing, I got to rest my tired feet, and it was a nice way to get out of the heat.
-Jackson is the wriggliest, most active little kid I know, and he sat still during four 30 minute shows--pretty impressive
-They just opened the Sesame Street Bay of Play this spring and it is wonderful! Whenever Jackson started getting antsy to get out of his stroller, we headed over there and let him run through the water. It was a great way for everyone to cool off.
All in all, we had a blast! I definitely think the SeaWorlds in Orlando and San Diego are better, but it was definitely worth our time and money to go to this one. It made for a fun little getaway, and Jackson had the time of his life! Here are his thoughts:
Well, you convinced me that I want to go! Looks like lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteAlso convinced. We need to go too, but we are going to wait until we have 2 little ones because our next break is devoted to welcoming a new child into our family so vacations are out.
